BIM Software for Infrastructure

Implementing and using BIM more efficiently in civil engineering / infrastructure

To keep pace with ongoing urban growth and modernize aging infrastructure quickly and efficiently, planning and construction execution need to be simplified and accelerated. In an era of tight budgets and high pressure to innovate, conventional approaches to sustainable infrastructure planning are barely up to the task anymore.

auxalia helps you, as an infrastructure and civil engineering designer, make optimal use of the BIM methodology, integrate Autodesk software, and introduce efficient processes for your day-to-day work.

How infrastructure planners benefit from the BIM methodology

BIM enables cross-team collaboration based on digital 3D models. These models hold all the information needed for planning, simulation, calculation, and tendering, as well as for construction and operation — allowing risks and errors in design and construction to be identified and avoided early. Since 2021, the BIM methodology has been mandatory for all publicly funded construction projects in Germany. Even so, BIM adoption in civil engineering still lags behind building construction — despite the fact that higher design and construction quality, optimized resource use, and sustainable cost savings apply just as much to infrastructure projects.

Our services for MEP at a glance

Your advisors and partners for successful MEP projects

auxalia offers MEP designers (HVAC and electrical) a comprehensive portfolio of consulting, training, and technology to make your workflows more efficient. We deliver hands-on knowledge through online training and in-person seminars. Beginners, advanced users, and professionals alike benefit — in their respective roles (BIM manager, BIM coordinator, BIM author, BIM modeler) — from targeted BIM training and BIM building blocks, including toward BIM certification. Day to day, we keep you productive through technical support and skilled project assistance.

Customized software for MEP and BIM

Whether Civil 3D, InfraWorks, Forma Site Design, StadtCAD, or the AEC Collection — we find the ideal software for your design office. We also complement Autodesk's standard solutions with in-house developments that make everyday design work even more efficient.

  • Civil 3D
Civil engineering software for terrain modeling
  • AutoCAD Map 3D
Model-based GIS and mapping software supporting planning, design, and management
  • Autodesk AEC Collection
All key software and cloud solutions for the construction industry in one package
  • Autodesk Forma Site Design
Solution for intelligent, cloud-based site planning
  • InfraWorks
Plan, simulate, and visualize detailed 3D models for civil engineering and infrastructure projects in real time

Examples: Your individual path to knowledge

There is no standardized way to meet your individual knowledge requirements. That’s why we work with you to develop your specific path to knowledge. Here are a few examples:

  • You're familiar with AutoCAD and new to Civil 3D. After attending a foundational seminar, you gain a broad overview.
  • After a while, you want to deepen your knowledge in a specific area, such as roads or pipe/utility networks — so you attend an advanced Civil 3D seminar.
  • Now a proficient user, you want to further qualify in BIM and document this for your design partners, so you attend the BIMfit Seminar: BIM Fundamentals, concluding with an official certificate.
  • To better manage IFC-based data exchange in BIM projects, the openBIM with IFC seminar is the right fit.
  • Throughout your training, we support you with comprehensive support around using your software, and advise and accompany you as needed on demanding projects.
