BIM Software for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)

Implementing and using BIM more efficiently in MEP design

Space is often limited when planning and executing HVAC and electrical installations. Close collaboration is essential here to avoid design and execution errors. By applying the BIM methodology and exchanging up-to-date data, all project stakeholders stay aligned at all times. The focus is on using Autodesk Revit together with auxalia's Revit ProjectBox. Among other things, this optimizes editing and analyzing information, transferring data to external calculation programs, and VOB-compliant quantity take-off for HVAC and electrical.

How MEP engineers benefit from the BIM methodology

Since MEP engineers use the same information as structural engineers and architects when applying the BIM methodology, MEP design is also integrated into the virtual building. Clash detection helps avoid unpleasant surprises on site, since duct/pipe routing and building structure are coordinated with one another. This allows pipe and duct runs to be optimized and routed space-efficiently directly on the building model.

All MEP elements carry geometric data as well as properties and attributes. By using the MEP fittings from the Revit ProjectBox, calculations such as heating or cooling load can be triggered in external solutions, with the results flowing back into the BIM model. Fitting information can also be used for VOB-compliant quantity take-off.

Our services for MEP at a glance

Your advisors and partners for successful MEP projects

auxalia offers MEP designers (HVAC and electrical) a comprehensive portfolio of consulting, training, and technology to make your workflows more efficient. We deliver hands-on knowledge through online training and in-person seminars. Beginners, advanced users, and professionals alike benefit — in their respective roles (BIM manager, BIM coordinator, BIM author, BIM modeler) — from targeted BIM training and BIM building blocks, including toward BIM certification. Day to day, we keep you productive through technical support and skilled project assistance.

Customized software for MEP and BIM

Whether Autodesk Revit, Revit ProjectBox, Autodesk Forma Industry Cloud, or the AEC Collection — we find the ideal software for your MEP design office. We also complement Autodesk's standard solutions with in-house developments that make everyday design work even more efficient.

Autodesk Revit — BIM software for architecture, MEP, structural engineering, and construction

Autodesk AEC Collection — All key software and cloud solutions for the construction industry in one package

Autodesk Forma Industry Cloud — An umbrella term for all Autodesk cloud solutions for the construction industry

Examples: Your individual path to knowledge

There is no standardized way to meet your individual knowledge requirements. That’s why we work with you to develop your specific path to knowledge. Here are a few examples:

  • You're an electrical designer and new to Revit, looking to develop toward BIM. After attending a foundational seminar for your specific area — e.g. Revit for MEP (Electrical) — you gain a broad overview and are able to design in 3D using the model-based BIM approach and produce corresponding drawings.
  • After a while, you want to deepen your Revit knowledge, so you attend an advanced seminar, e.g. Revit for MEP (Electrical) – Advanced Seminar.
  • Now a proficient Revit user, you want to further qualify in BIM and document this for your design partners — so you attend the BIMfit Seminar: BIM Fundamentals, which concludes with an official certificate.
  • Throughout your training, we support you with comprehensive support around using your BIM software, and advise and accompany you as needed on demanding BIM projects.

What our customers say.

Service
“auxalia is a software company with very high competence in both training and consulting. I really appreciate this combination. Beyond that, auxalia has excellent instructors who solve our problems with a hands-on, technical understanding. For MEP, that's Mr. Arno Funk, for example, who is available to us. ”
