IFC-Manager
Simplify BIM-based MEP planning in IFC workflows
SOLAR-COMPUTER IFC-Manager for Revit helps you generate Revit models from IFC files created in BIM software such as AutoCAD, ALLPLAN, and Archicad. The tool lets you simplify, review, adapt, and generate Revit models from imported IFC data, making it especially useful for building services engineers and other Revit users who work with IFC files.
The IFC-Manager is available for Autodesk Revit from version 2020 and is integrated directly into Revit ProjectBox with the corresponding SOLAR-COMPUTER IFC-Manager license.
Create Revit models from IFC files
SOLAR-COMPUTER IFC-Manager gives MEP planners a more structured way to visualize, map, interpret, and reuse IFC content inside Revit.
Convenient viewer
The imported IFC file is visualized in the viewer both in 3D and in the building tree. You can control section pivot points freely, move through the full or sectioned building, and hide or filter IFC elements in the tree while seeing the effect directly in the 3D view.
Specific IFC mapping
The IFC-Manager detects IFC classes in the imported file and maps them automatically to Revit categories. Refined IFC mapping also analyzes configurable precision and distinction criteria within selected IFC classes, including differences between room-bounding walls, sanitary partition walls, and wall coverings.
Handling generic IFC elements
Architects often use generic IFC elements to define building components with flexibility, but this can reduce BIM efficiency when models move into specialist planning. Specific IFC mapping helps planners detect relevant IFC elements algorithmically, map them to meaningful Revit categories, and reuse those rules across projects.
Universal use of the generated Revit model
The IFC-Manager controls Revit model generation based on global and specific IFC mapping settings. The resulting model can then be processed further in Revit and used as the basis for SOLAR-COMPUTER calculations for building and MEP systems with discipline-specific tools.
StadtCAD and XPlanung
StadtCAD is essential for successful XPlanung workflows. Together with the optional XPlanung PRO module, it supports all XPlanGML formats from 3.0 to 6.0 for bidirectional data exchange. We show you, using a planning example, how to integrate XPlanung into your workflow with StadtCAD.
